Billet is an ingot which most of steel products are made of. There are different types of steel ingots, which are: billets, blooms, and slabs. Billet ingots are longer than the other steel ingots and have a circular or square cross-section with a width of less than 15 cm and a small
cross-section of less than 230 cm2. Billet ingots are obtained by direct casting, extrusion or by rolling. Billets are mostly used to produce rebars and wires.
Billet ingots are produced in two categories:
3sp and 5sp
A 3sp billet is flexible and more flexible in terms of traction, bending, and twisting.
5sp ingots are not flexible.
